CyberPowWow 2K was the point where I began to to feel like I’d “caught up” with Ahasiw in terms of his forward-thinking around media and technology, but when I read his essays from that time and re-visit the works he was making I realize he was pulling even further ahead. Ahasiw had a way of synthesizing contemporary art practice with a deep regard for traditional thought which created a practice that had, nor has, any parallel in the art world.
